OPEN CALL FOR WRITING PARTICIPANTS
A Season of Performance Writing is a series of practical writing workshops for everyone interested in writing, performance, and writing about performance. You will be invited to the dress rehearsals of four premieres from Berlin’s independent dance scene. After the show, through short sessions of lively writing exercises, you will collect and organise your thoughts. These sessions are complemented with two longer, in-depth workshops to develop your skills, examine ideas around performance, and write from a fresh perspective. There will also be space for individual feedback. Sessions are held in English and led and facilitated by Richard Aslan and Louise Trueheart of INTERNATIONAL NOTICE, whose joint experience encompasses performance making, choreography, writing, and editing.
A Season of Performance Writing is brought to you by INTERNATIONAL NOTICE and THEATERSCOUTINGS BERLIN. INTERNATIONAL NOTICE is an artist-led project generating a constantly evolving archive of original and innovative critical writing in response to independent performance in Berlin. In collaboration with over 30 venues, THEATERSCOUTINGS BERLIN opens a path for audience to the independent performing arts community in Berlin, with various formats including post-performance discussions, pre-performance introductions, rehearsal visits, guided tours, workshops.
Price for the season is €150, which includes the four performances and two writing workshops. An early-bird rate of €125 is available until October 24th. (Prices are VAT inclusive.) All events take place in the evening.

Rathaus Neukölln) WORKSHOP #2 INTERNATIONAL NOTICE is a working group formed out of How Do We Work it, an initiative of Berlin choreographers to meet, speak and reflect on current working conditions in contemporary art in Berlin. THEATERSCOUTINGS BERLIN opens a path to the independent performing arts community in Berlin. In collaboration with over 30 cooperation partners, Theaterscoutings offers a monthly alternating schedule of programming. Post-performance discussions and pre-performance introductions, workshops and formats such as jam sessions or rehearsal visits are held.
